11-2. SPECIALIZATION

Nervous tissues are specialized to:

a. Receive Stimuli. Cells receiving stimuli are said to be "irritable" (as are all living cells to a degree).

b. Transmit Information.

c. "Store" Information. The storing of information is called memory.
