About this
E-Book
This pre-algebra course is intended to ease the
transition between the relatively simple mechanics of integer arithmetic
to the relatively abstract principles of algebra and beyond.
The teaching approach is straightforward: Begin with the
familiar and then remix it from a more general, abstract point of view.
For example, few people need to strain at the familiar concept of
1 + 1 = 2 Okay, then consider
x + x = 2x This means that adding
two identical values is the same as doubling the value of one of them.
It's the 1 + 1 concept made more general and far more useful ... the
purpose of this course. |
