The Ten Most-Asked Questions

Learning at Free-Ed.Net is not "business as usual." It is a new, exciting, productive environment for learning. But, understandably, some people are immediately confused and lost, because they are expecting a more traditional type of teaching/learning situation. These common questions and answers will help alleviate some of the confusion.

Q1: What courses do you offer?
A: You will find over 300 courses and relevant resources for the most important career and academic subject.
Q2: How much does it cost?
A: Nothing on the Free-Ed.Net site costs you anything. Zero. The work is supported by a bit of unobtrusive advertising and donations from those who believe in our mission.
Q3: How do I start?
A: Find the course you want to take, select the lesson you want to work on ... and go to work.
Q4. Do I get a certificate when I complete my work here?
A: No. Free-Ed.Net does not provide documentation for completed studies.
Q5: What is the point of studying if we don't get a certificate of completion?
A: The point of learning is to make a difference in your world. The best "documentation" is a complete learning journal that describes your accomplishments in detail. Active students at Free-Ed.Net develop learning portfolios -- impressive collections of learning journals representing their accomplishments.
Q6: How do I enroll?
A: Very few classes require enrollment. In those few instances, you will be prompted to sign up when the time is right. Don't worry about.
Q7: Can you call me or send more information?
A: No. Everything you need to know is offered right here ... online.
Q8: Where do I get my books for the classes?
A: All study materials you need are provided online and free of charge. However, it can be helpful to borrow appropriate books from your local library, or even buy some used textbooks. But these are not necessary for successful completion of your work here.
Q9: How do I take my exams and submit them for grading?
A: Exams are important, because they help you assess your progress and depth of understanding. Exam grades, however, are not a critical part of the learning experience at Free-Ed.Net. There are no grades.
Q10: How do I contact my teacher?
A: You may have informal advisors or mentors, and they will let you know how to contact them. But Free-Ed.Net does not use teachers, as such this is a learning facility, not a teaching facility.
